Nutrition

Are you struggling with your weight? Finding it hard to reach or maintain your goals? Unsure what to eat or what suits you and your body type? Do you have excessive fatigue or lack of motivation? Perhaps chronic joint and muscle pain? If any of these sound familiar then it could be related to your diet and lifestyle.

The role of a Nutritionist is to prepare a nutritional asessment of your current diet and lifestyle and help make changes that will improve your health and encourage an optimal nutritional environment for injury and illness prevention. It is not a medical service (for this you need a Dietitian) but rather someone to guide you to make better choices and find an individual solution to reaching your goals.

Nutrition Consultation

There is so much information available, especially on the internet. Try this diet, try that diet, change this, change that….. but what is the solution? The answer is that there is no one size fits all solution when it comes to Nutrition. A consultation with a professional Nutritionist will help you to work out what YOUR solution is, not what is popular with the latest You Tuber.

Each Consultation begins with a thorough look at your needs and goals, your current lifestyle (diet, exercise, work, lifestyle) and how to best achieve healthy changes. Your Nutritionist will ask you to keep a journal for two weeks prior to your appointment to get a clear picture to work from.

Please Note; This is not a Dietetic service. GP referrals and Care plans are not accepted for Nutrition Services. You do not need a referral to see a Nutritionist.

A nutritionist will analyze your diet

Consultation

The Initial Consultation is a vital starting point to see where you and/or your family are at in regard to Nutrition. Don’t be embarrassed or scared, you are welcomed into a non judgmental environment. Our Nutritionist is here to help you by analyzing your diet and lifestyle and then design a program to steer you on a healthier path.

It is a big help to supply a journal with two weeks of data for your Nutritionist to look at. This will be food consumption, exercise, work hours, sleep patterns, medications, mood, goals etc.

Weight management is important for good health

Nutrition Program

The next step is for your Nutritionist to write a program for you. No lettuce leaves here. Your meals and snacks are nutritionally balanced, wholesome and importantly….filling! Alongside a new eating plan you will be give a suggested exercise plan which will take into account your age, fitness level, injuries or conditions, motivational barriers and availability of equipment/access to exercise tools. Some people need a basic program, where others need something more comprehensive.

A nutritionist can help you read food labels

Education

It is almost impossible to make healthy choices if you do not know what is in your food. Our Nutritionist will teach you what to look for on a food label, what to avoid, what to fill up on, provide alternatives and make sure you are consuming healthy tasty products. Our Nutritionist is not providing a diet, but rather guiding you to make better choices, leading to a healthier lifestyle.

Good nutrition is essential for life

Maintenance

Great! You have put in the hard work and reached your goals? Now What? Well, our Nutritionist is here to keep you on track. By this stage you have hopefully embraced your new eating and lifestyle changes but, we all slip up. A chat with your Nutritionist is often all that is needed to get you back on track and keep the motivation going.

Really pleased with the service here

What I thought would be a long arduous journey to recovery was actually made very quick and easy. Kylie was very thorough in her assessment and treatment of my injury. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
