Myotherapy
Myotherapy or “Muscular Therapy” is a form of physical therapy used to treat and prevent pain and restricted movement of the joints and soft tissues in the body. Muscle, Tendon, Ligament, Cartilage, Fascia, Connective Tissues are in the soft tissue category. Soft tissues, Joints, Nerves and Vessels all affect each other within the body. It is the role of the Myotherapist to assess what has gone wrong and work out how to make it right. We use a range of modalities such as;

Massage
Massage has long been known for its many health benefits. Massage is the use of a variety of hands on techniques to relieve pain, increase circulation, enhance mobility, warm and stretch soft tissues, relax muscles, relieve joint stiffness and enhance total body wellness. We offer a range of massage types from gentle relaxation massage through to firm sports massage through to deep tissue massage.
Your therapist will alter depth and intensity of your massage depending on pain levels and the outcome required. Our types of massage are;

Osteopathy Treatment
Osteopathic Treatment involves manipulations (adjustments) to the spine and other joints of the body. When alignment and movement is corrected, the body uses its natural ability to heal itself therefore easing pain, discomfort and immobility.
Osteopaths also give advice regarding ergonomics, movement and sleeping positions to take care of your Neuromusculoskeletal system (bones, nerves, muscles, ligaments and tendons).
Our Osteopath uses gentle manipulation/adjustment techniques, along with myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and corrective exercises. The techniques are both comfortable and safe and importantly proven to be effective. Our Osteopath provides;

Exercise Therapy
The body responds and adapts to physical activity and exercise, but, the body is also very good at adapting to incorrect movement patterns too. Our exercise therapists can tailor a program to get you moving based on your fitness level, movement ability, injury and condition requirements ensuring correct movement patterns are utilised.
This may be in the form of a home program, modification of a gym program, using our in house exercise rehab studio or referral to our personal trainer. Our focus as exercise therapists is to provide;

Lymphatic Drainage
The Lymphatic System is essential for immune function, waste removal and fluid movement within the body. This fluid can accumulate in certain areas of the body (Lymphodoema) causing pain, swelling and stiffness.
Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle massage technique which helps moves this fluid to the lymph nodes where the body can redistribute or remove it.

Acupuncture
QI is the energy that flows through our body through a series of channels called Meridians. This energy may become blocked by obstacles and acupuncture can be applied to release these blockages and hence allow energy to flow freely. By opening Meridian lines and clearing blockages health and wellness is improved or restored

TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)
TCM was developed in China over 2,000 years ago. It covers a range of medicine practices from herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise and dietary changes. TCM aims to prevent or heal disease by restoring and maintaining yingyang balance in the body. QI, the vital force of life in the body, may become imbalanced leading to disease and illness. TCM aims to restore this.
