Podiatry
Podiatrists are specialists trained in foot and lower limb health. Podiatrists help diagnose, prevent and treat a wide range of foot and related conditions. This may be from an ingrown toenail through to surgical intervention. Many of us suffer from toenail disorders, warts, heel or arch pain. Or perhaps skin problems, balance disorders, sprains and strains. Or do you have diabetes, arthritis, foot odour, rashes or injuries? Your Podiatrist can help you!
how does a podiatrist keep your feet healthy?
A Podiatrist (or Chiropodist) is the best practitioner to visit when things aren’t quite right with your feet. Incorrect footwear, poorly fitted shoes or high heels are common contributors to corns, swelling, deformity, ingrown toenails and unhealthy feet. Injuries to the feet, ankle or lower limb also present challenges to the rest of the body once poor walking patterns and compensation sets in. As we age, the foot structure often changes with bunions, arthritis and old injuries. Play lots of sport? This too can greatly affect your movement patterns, balance and recovery. You may need orthotics, nail care, advice on shoes to suit your feet – our Podiatrist is here to help take some pressure off our most neglected part of the body.

Podiatry Assessment
Your Podiatrist will discuss your medical and family history, perform a physical examination and may require imaging. Your Podiatrist will look at your feet in action and it is handy to bring your favourite shoes to your appointment. Depending on the problem, your Podiatrist will then discuss the best treatment options – whether it be skin/nail care, orthotics, exercises, topical creams and more.

Nail and Foot Care
Your Podatrist will use an array of sterilized instruments to tackle even the toughest nail. The use and purpose of these instruments will be explained to you during your appointment. Some may be noisy, some may be sharp, but be assured your Podiatrist will minimize discomfort during your treatment.

Orthotics
Orthotics are custom made shoe or heel inserts. They are designed to provide relief to the wearer from ankle and foot conditions. They provide correction of deformity, cushioning, help prevent further injury, provide comfort and pressure relief especially to the heel, foot arch and ankle.

Happy Healthy Feet
Most people neglect their feet, but, they are so important to our overall health. Altered gait from corns, callouses, warts, bunions, splits, skin rashes, blisters, arthritis, ingrown toenails affects our entire body. Odorous feet and deformity makes the person self conscious but foot care can restore confidence.

Really pleased with the service here
What I thought would be a long arduous journey to recovery was actually made very quick and easy. Kylie was very thorough in her assessment and treatment of my injury. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
